Guest: Dr. Faleh Tamimi - Adel Moussa - Dr. Jini Naidoo

Now this study continues to show the truth in that. Dr. Tamimi discusses how Melatonin supplementation influences bone mineral re-absorption leading to stronger thicker bones in the elderly. PLUS Adel Moussa joins us as a surprise guest to talk about the use of a Light Box with Melatonin to establish a healthy rhythmicity that leads to better sleep. Guest: Prof. Karen Winterich - Dr. Clare Llewellyn - Dr. Virginia Boccardi
Prof. Winterich looked at how marketing influences the obesogenic model. When value is pitted against health do people abandon health for value? And if the value is applied to "healthy" foods are people as quick to take advantage of the offer? These and many more are answered. PLUS Hunger drives obesity. Satiety quenches hunger. Are there specific genetic types that are prone to not being satisfied by their meals? Are they then more likely to be obese? Dr. Llewellyn discusses this phenomenon and what we can learn from our genes. PLUS Telomere length has been implicated as a mechanism in cellular aging. The longer your telomeres the slower you're aging. Telomerase helps to keep telomeres long. Dr. Boccardi and her group looked at all the available research to determine if telomerase activation holds any real promise in slowing the aging process down while improving overall health.

Guest: Coach Wade Johnson - Dr. Ross Wilkie - Jordan Rubin
Coach Johnson does a top-line summary of what you need to prepare for your first competition. We cover your opening lift, second and top lift, questions you should be asking, what to be prepared for during warm-ups and much more. PLUS As we age widespread pain not associated with osteoarthritis appears to become a problem. For some its just the nagging aches and pains of aging but for others the pain is debilitating. Dr. Wilkie's group looked at a large population of senior citizens and discovered some interesting corollaries in the groups who suffer form the greatest occurrences of pain. PLUS Rubin's story is nothing short of amazing. At 20 years old he stood at death's door. After saving his own life through nutritional means he became a zealot. Now he has done something no one else wanted to do. He has built a company that is prepared to provide pristine old-world variations and preparations of food for the masses. Foods prepared in ways we have not seen since biblical times!
How early in a child's life is the microbiota established? Are there windows of opportunity to influence it? Does breastfeeding play a role? These and many other questions are discussed. Dr. Licht's group performed a longitudinal study of 330 Danish infants and made several discoveries. PLUS Carl reads some listener comments that were missed on Casual Friday. One especially important one was from Adel Moussa.
There is a movement afoot of women who are embracing strength as a true attribute of the female condition. These are not the female strength athletes of the early Soviet Union that conjure thoughts of women's heads atop men's bodies. These are mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. They look more like the women in our own circles with one difference. They're not inhibited by stereotypes. They love being strong while still being sexy. PLUS Dr. Blaser has identified one of the prime culprits in the modern disease model - disruption of the microbiome. He has laid it squarely at the doorstep of the medical orthodoxy and their penchant to hand out antibiotics at every opportunity. His new book is an important contribution to the discussion.
Guest: Dr. Annette Langer-Gould - Dr. Natalie Rasgon - Dr. Luigi Nibali
Multiple Sclerosis is on the rise in women. Dr. Langer-Gould's group looked at the linkage between hormonal contraceptives and the prevalence of Multiple Sclerosis. PLUS Dr. Rasgon's group looked at brain function, metabolism and cognition in a group of postmenopausal women who are genetically predisposed to dementia. They compared those who are currently on HRT and those who were on and stopped. They also corrected for those using beta-estradiol, beta-estradiol and progesterone combined and compared to those using Conjugated Equine Estrogen as well as synthetic estrogen and progestins. The results was astounding and explains why the Women's Health Initiative study was a complete failure and ultimately hurt a lot of women. PLUS Many of us are aware of the importance of the microbiome in our body. But what if you can't influence it through the introduction of beneficial microbes? What if your genetics predispose you to specific phyla of microbes and not others. And THIS is the real "genetic predisposition" to developing diseases like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Cancer and more. Dr. Nibali's group may have discovered that its your genes that allow your body to adopt some microbes while not others.

Guest: Dr. Daniel Forger - Dr. Sudeshna Ghosh - Mark Burton
Traveling across time zones causes people to suffer from lack of energy and poor cognitive performance. These issues are attributed to Jet-lag, a phenomenon caused by a de-synchronized circadian rhythm. Dr. Forger and colleagues developed a free app that will help anyone traveling across time zones or international date lines synchronize their circadian rhythm by giving specific instruction for the best time and duration of light exposure. This app can also be of great value even if you're not traveling to help you correct any misaligned circadian rhythm. PLUS Dr. Ghosh published a study showing that exposure to Triclosan, a popular and ubiquitous antimicrobial found in too many products to list, increases the colonization of a form of Staphylococcus that can lead to a variety of other issues including sinusitis. PLUS Super Human's report their results and experiences using PerCoBa Colostrum. Burton answer their questions and comments on-air.

PLUS Dr. Klement did a review of all of the available literature on dietary manipulation in concert with and without traditional cancer treatment. His paper not only shows clear evidence that caloric restriction, intermittent fasting and ketogenic diets have a place in treating cancer but also lists some techniques that every physician treating, and patient being treated for cancer should know about.

We discuss some natural alternatives that he uses. PLUS Dr. Shanahan's group published a study that directly links obesity and higher body-fat levels to cognitive declines that lead to dementia. Obesity has been linked to failing brain function. This study not only shows how but what happens when even a modest reduction in body-fat occurs.

Dr. Gardner looked at this assertion to find out if this is in fact the case. PLUS Honeycutt is the founder of Moms Across America. Her organization orchestrated the the collection of breast milk from members and tested it for traces of glyphosate - the herbicide in Roundup. What they found is nothing short of shocking.
Everywhere you turn, someone is pushing vaccines at us. From the obviously Government/Big Pharma influenced movie Contagion to news media trying to convince us and politicians trying to force us to vaccinate. But are all vaccines bad? And are they safe and effective? Dr. Nass has testified before congress on the subject. Listen and learn.
