Alimony has been around sine the late 1700’s to protect women and children when a man decided to find a new life without his family. Fast forward to today when Alimony has taken a turn and can be a way for women to wield the court system to punish and even crush the lives of the men they once loved. Few people have the credentials to write a book like this. His goal was selfish. He wanted a road-map. A single book that would provide a guide to optimizing the human body, mind, and spirit—written with no stone unturned, no fluff, no “watered down” drivel—just pure, hardcore, practical, from-the-trenches content. It didn’t exist, so he wrote it himself.
The concept of measuring the difference between chronologic and biologic aging is a new phenomenon. First it was telomere length, but that hasn’t proven to be accurate. Many new metrics have since followed. Few have panned out to be accurate as we dive deeper. Often in science its not the obvious or sexy stuff that has real meaning. It’s usually the things right under our nose that have been around for decades, and thus, often ignored. What if the targets to accurately measure biologic aging are already in our hands? Today we will discuss a new program that is offered to laypeople that unlocks the target markers of biologic aging. Understanding these will help provide accurate data-points to assess if what you are doing is actually working. We will also explain how you can become certified yourself.
Humanity has become trapped in the "Human Zoo" that has left millions in a cycle of chronic disease, disconnected from real food, the environment, and from each other. We are designed to live a long, healthy life full of vitality. It is our destiny. Paleo f(x)™ is the place to free yourself from the Human Zoo.
We’re all stressed. We’re all worried. And now we’re all quarantined in our individuals homes. 5 days into a 15 day “social distancing” exercise that we hope will lead to our lives normalizing. So many people are already at wits end. Cabin fever is at an all time high. And the not-knowing is making it worse. Some feel that our lives will never be back to normal. And if so, when? July? August? We have to find ways to come together and keep moving forward. And while we wait for our lives to normalize we have to learn how to live #TogetherApart.
Several peptides show efficacy in suppressing viruses like influenza. But COVID-19 is a reverse transcripted virus like HIV and EBOLA. Can these peptides also protect against COVID-19 and even be used to treat patients who have already contracted the virus? PLUS There are people who are regularly infected with viruses and never develop symptoms. Why is that? What's different about their immune system? Could the linkage between seasonality of influenza and virus spread be a result of the sun and vitamin D3? And if it is, what can you do in the winter?

Today’s mom doesn’t want the “mom bod”. Post childbirth weight gain and loss of fitness just doesn’t cut it today. Many new moms want the body they had before childbirth.. and they want it now. But do some push too hard? And how do you find the time and energy with a growing family? Does pushing too hard have the potentials to backfire? Sometimes less is more.

Carl asked listeners who have bought the B-Strong BFR Bands to report their results... good or bad. Here's the first two people who took up the challenge.
We follow the statistical model produced by statistician who is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries to predict the trajectory of the Coronavirus here in the USA against the backdrop of what we already know about its spread in South Korea, China, Italy and Cruise Ships. How many will get infected? How many will die? Are we seeing any results from our efforts to suppress its spread here in the USA?
Kratom is a very misunderstood plant. Many think that because it interacts with the opioid receptor that it must be like opioids. Kratom’s analgesic effects are undeniable. But its ability to improve mood and focus is not something you’d expect from a plant the kills pain like an opioid. So would it be a good pre-workout? Especially for us older athletes? PLUS Mark discusses diets. He's leveraged many to his benefit. His current plate-of-choice is carnivore.
The #1 reason people contact me about peptides is asking if there are any that can treat depression. Now I can say yes. . Treating depression is not only difficult, but often doesn’t work at all. Up to 30% of those prescribed SSRI’s say they didn’t work. Ever notice some people NEVER get depressed? Not just hiding it well, but seriously never get depressed? That may be due to the elevated expression a peptide known as Spadin that literally makes them immune to depression. Now you may be able to leverage this peptide to solve your own depression problems.
While there are no direct studies that have looked at this, some statistics from China plus studies that have looked at the roles of estrogens and androgens on influencing immune function and autoimmunity give us a glimpse of the risks and rewards of being men and women.
Every year there are some 665,000 strokes. Many of those people do not fully recover due to "therapy caps" and other barriers. They face a lifetime of disability and two thirds will never work again. Therapy caps are dollar amount limits on therapies that the insurance companies put in place to protect against over-spending. But what’s over-spending for one may be the recovery of another. There are very few therapies that actually produce recovery to stroke patients. And if someone wants to peruse their recovery beyond the insurance company’s coverage they have to pay out of pocket. Most would pay if they thought there was something that promised to help. A physician is helping stroke patients improve their outcomes. And she’s using peptides as an important part of her protocol. If you’ve suffered a stroke or know someone who has, you’ll want to listen closely. Hope is a new feeling for many.
Androgen Deprivation Therapy is an barbaric prostate cancer treatment that robs a man of his life. Since Dr. Samuel Denmeade's two studies showing that the most aggressive prostate cancers can be treated with testosterone scientist are taking a new look at the role of testosterone in the development and management of prostate cancer. PLUS A Super Human stops by to talk about an upcoming grappling match when he mentions to Carl that he once had to drop 25 pounds in 24 hours. Naturally this became a fascinating and unpredicted turn in the discussion.
Nyctalopia is the term used for night blindness. A phenomenon described by the NIH as a normal part of the aging eye. It’s estimated that over 24 million adult Americans suffer from night blindness not caused by optic nerve or retinal issues. By that age of 75 over 50% of us will develop difficulty seeing in dimly lit environments, or being blinded when driving at night by oncoming headlights? Do you find yourself a bit panicked when driving at night because the oncoming headlights make you lose sight of the road? Or you find yourself using the flashlight app on your smart phone to read the menu at restaurants because, while the print isn’t necessarily hard to read, you feel it’s just too dim to see? This condition is attributed to changes in the crystalline lenses of the eye that make it more opaque. This makes rays of light harder to reach the retina. Lie looking through a really dirty window. It may also be the early signs of a developing cataract. There is something you can do about it to regain your ability to see in dimly lit environments as you age.
It may turn out that many of the diseases associated with aging are caused my the reduction of blood flow to nerves, organs and the brain. What effects these blood pathways? And what can be done to reverse this?
For the first time in history, there are now more people 65 and above, than under the age of five years old. We are living longer, but not healthier. We are dedicated to researching and commercializing drug-free solutions that are scientifically shown to extend overall longevity, while simultaneously increasing the health and quality of our years throughout our life span. Ultimately, we seek to reverse the effects of biological aging. Can this unique molecule deliver on these desires? PLUS Starting from scratch is hard to do when you're a compulsive trainer. But it just might be what you have to do.
I’ve always asked why we couldn’t just plant new healthy microbes in our gut the way we re-seed our lawns. Well now it may be possible. This single strain firmicute has been shown to: improve protein digestion and absorption; reduce SIBO, IBS and autoimmune symptoms; protect against bad bacteria and pathogens taking up residence in your gut; reduce morning brain-fog and improve mental clarity. It’s also associated with leaner more muscular bodies in scientific papers that look at ratios of firmicutes to Bacteroidetes in lean versus obese individuals. And the patented delivery system makes it double its population every 20 minutes helping to repopulate your gut like reseeding your lawn.
Between 1965 and 1987, the cesarean section rate in the United States rose precipitously—from 4.5 percent to 25 percent of births. By 2009, one in three births was by cesarean, a far higher number than the 5–10% rate that the World Health Organization suggests is optimal. While physicians largely avoided cesareans through the mid-twentieth century, by the early twenty-first century, cesarean section was the most commonly performed surgery in the country. What were the unintended consequences of this practice?
Peptides are on fire right now. And information is dribbling out. Those who want to arm themselves with knowledge about the subject generally have to turn to people who are just marginally more knowledgeable than themselves. Not any longer. From the man behind the movement, Dr. William Seeds, comes the first-ever clinicians guide to peptides. Learn how to get your copy on today’s show. PLUS If you're a hard-training Super Human blood testing for health insurance or life insurance may leave you confused. Markers usually associated with health problems may be elevated even though you don't have health problems. You'll need to be able to explain to those who don't get it. The CDC reported in January that suicides are up 40% over the past 17 years. Ask any American who's committing suicide and they'll inevitably reply young people or the economically underserved. Ask them why and they'll tell you bullying, income inequality, low socioeconomic standing, accessibility of guns and fatherless homes. But they'd be wrong.
What if I told you 70% of all suicides in America are men. And the largest percentage are white middle to older aged men. And they're in the mid to top economic strata. So what's going on? And as men, what can we do?
