Why peptides run the risk of being the next big fail

124257417__20201117-175143_1

I often see posts of questions asking if there is a peptide that will help weight loss or a peptide that will help detox the body. peptides are powerful cellular messages. But they are not a replacement for good decisions and discipline. As a result many people will be disappointed in the end result of the peptide exploration. In order for peptides to even work in the first place, you must remove the insult that is causing the problem. As an example, many people are looking for peptides to resolve their rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder. All autoimmune disorders start in the gut. Your diet affects your gut. So it can be said that your diet is the reason you have rheumatoid arthritis. If you attempt to use a peptide to reverse your rheumatoid arthritis, without first eliminating the source of the disease, it's not going to work. What...

Immunogenicity and Hypersensitivity Reactions: How do peptides and proteins compare to other drugs?

Peptide Sciences BPC-157

Unfortunately, almost all drugs have the potential to cause some type of allergic and immunogenic response. However, what are the prevalence of these reactions with peptides? “Biological drugs” are a class of medication which are partially or completely chemically constituted by amino acids that are linked to each other forming peptides and proteins. The basic distinguishing factor between peptides and proteins are size and structure. Traditionally, peptides are much smaller compared to proteins; consisting of 2-50 amino acids while proteins are made up of 50 or more. Further, peptides tend to be less defined in structure than proteins as proteins can adopt complex conformations known as secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structures. Proteins tend to give cells their shape and respond to signals transmitted from an extracellular environment. peptides play key roles in regulating the activities of other molecules. Although the differences between proteins and peptides are subtle, there may be an...

Why Tougher Cuts of Beef Are Better For You To Eat

$3 to $5 per pound Shoulder produces great chuck steaks once tenderized
Hand tenderized shoulder steaks

The more weight bearing muscles develop more collagen. It’s a fact. And that makes them tough to chew. These cuts like shoulder, which are less desirable, are where chuck steaks come from. They’re less expensive as well. The butcher runs them through a mechanical tenderizer that literally “Pre-chews” the meat so it’s easier for you to chew. These are often called cubed steaks minute steaks because they are thinner than traditional cuts of steak. They also have a characteristic pattern in them from the mechanical tenderizing.  You can also perform this tenderizing process yourself in your own kitchen using a mallet-like device pictured. Methionine is blamed for the advanced aging effects of high animal protein diets. Another amino acid - glycine - is known to offset the undesirable effects of methionine overload. Collagen is approximately 35% glycine by weight. We no longer get enough glycine in our diets because we no...

[URGENT] The Link Between Sun Exposure and Coronavirus

lady-exposes-herself-to-the-su_20200305-024607_1

Everywhere I turn people are posting articles about how to NOT TO GET the COVID-19 coronavirus. Most if not all are using huge extrapolations citing correlation and in-vitro studies. In-vitro studies don’t prove much. I can pour gasoline in a petri dish of cancer cells and it will kill the cancer cells. But drinking gasoline will just kill you and may not kill the cancer cells in you. And correlation studies just show a relationship to the virus and not causality. I could easily create the correlation between water exposure and coronavirus. “people who contracted COVID-19 all took showers ergo showers cause COVID-19”. Silly, right? But this is what many correlation studies do. They don’t show what causes coronavirus. The best that correlation studies can do is give you some ideas for more precise studies to see if causality occurs. Like hitting the target but not a bull’s eye. And in-vitro...

BPC-157 and Site Injections

34943053_s

I read a post on FB recently indicating that BPC-157 MUST be site injected to work right. For those of you not familiar with BPC-157 can heal injuries faster. Much faster in fact. I suffered a small muscle belly tear in my right hamstring last week doing very heavy seated leg curls. I immediately went home and injected 1mg of BPC-157 into the area of the tear. The following day I had a small bruise from the little bit of blood let out of the muscle at the tear location. But my hamstring already felt better. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being very little recovery and 10 being completely healed it was a 7. I continued to inject 1mg at the site for the next 5 days taking 2 days off. I went to the gym today to train legs and using just 50% of my...

Which Peptides Can And Can't Be Delivered Transdermally

structure-of-the-epidermis

Almost 20 years ago I was the guy on the Internet who you contacted if you wanted to compound a drug (mainly anabolic steroids) into transdermals. A sheet I created back in 2004 still circulates in bodybuilding forums "Homebrewing With PhloJel Ultra by Triceptor" with detailed steps in how to blend up to 20% concentrations of raw materials and deliver them effectively and efficiently through the skin. Most compounding pharmacists will say you can't get 20% concentrations and that 10% is the best you can do, but they're wrong. I learned my skills from the best in the world. Dr. Jim Rogers of JAR Pharmaceutical in Alberta Canada. When it came to transdermal delivery he was THE trail blazer. Now on to my point. With the oncoming peptide craze, people are attempting to deliver peptides through the skin to avoid crossing over to the dark-side on injections. In reality, this was...

The Sun: What you don’t see can save your life

35BC3A83-E92B-4B31-B715-0328976B9CA6 Sun Spectrum

The sun has been a driving force in human evolution. Sun exposure has had a profound effect on the human condition all the way down to a genetic level. Today we’re told sun exposure is dangerous by the dermatological field. While I’m not going to get into skin cancer which I’ve talked about on my show numerous times, let it be known that skin cancer is caused by your diet and the sun is an unwilling participant. Visible light makes up a very small segment of all of the electromagnetic radiation that rains down upon us from the sun. Our fascination with visible light is predictable because we can see it. But the wavelengths that we cannot see may have greater effect on our physiology and health than we realize.  In 2002 my father was diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy. Today we realize that it’s not really from diabetes but from a...

LL37 Reconstituting, Dosing & Autism Update

Peptide LL37

Reconstituting and dosing LL37 for Autoimmune Disorders & Gut Rehabilitation. Take one 5 milligram vial (5,000 mg) of LL37 add 4 milliliters of bacteriostatic water to this. This will fill up the vial all the way to the stopper (video below is for BPc157 but can be used to illustrate the reconstitution process for LL37 however the dosing is different).  Allow it to sit overnight in the refrigerator and the next morning begin dosing at 10 units per injection. This will be 125 micrograms of LL37 which will last you 50 doses or 50 days. Then cease use for two to four weeks before starting a second round. Use until you notice no more benefits. LL37 and Autism Update I discussed my thoughts on how LL37 may benefit children on the spectrum in this show here SHR # 2289 - Is This The Miracle Stomach Cure We've All Been Waiting For?...

Study shows benefits of sex for older adults

31178903_s

COMMENTARY: I talk a lot about the importance of sex in health and longevity. Here’s another reason to be having more sex. Men feel they’re happier with the quality of their lives when they’re having more sex. If you’re making your man beg for it, you’re creating a grumpy man.  If you want your man to do more around the house, have more sex with him. Men are easy. The way to a man’s heart isn’t through his stomach… it’s just a little lower. The study says so! The sexual activity gives both sexes a boost, but intercourse is more important for older men. ANGLIA RUSKIN UNIVERSITY A new study published in the journal Sexual Medicine indicates that sexual activity is associated with improved wellbeing amongst older adults, measured through higher enjoyment of life scores. Led by Dr. Lee Smith from Anglia Ruskin University and Dr. Sarah Jackson from UCL, the study involved...

Does Breast Milk Tell Us Low Carb is Better?

breastfeeding-pharaoh breastfeeding pharaoh

There’s lots of debate about the appropriate human diet from a macronutrient basis. Low Carb High Fat – Low Fat High Carb – High Fat High Protein. Much of what we know about our diet through evolution has been skewed by the sheer availability of these foods in our environment. Human breast milk may be a better indicator of what macros the body places importance upon. Especially since these macros shift at different phases of lactation. Protein ratios shift between whey and casein. The amount and type of fats shift. And the carbohydrate concentration shifts over time as well. While breast feeding in and up to the first 12 months has been highly studied, research of continuing to breastfeed past 24 months and up to 48 months had been lacking. A group of scientist set out to discover how the macronutrient ratios shifted in mother’s milk when continuing to breastfeed up...
